A Three-Year Project to Explore the Link between Culture & Profit
The Return on Values (ROV) research initiative is a three-year partnership with the Small Giants Community to explore the relationship between culture, values, and business success in small to mid-size companies. This intensive, evidence-based research will result in case studies, measurement instruments, data, and insights that will help equip entrepreneurs and business owners to lead companies that perform well in the marketplace and care for employees, customers, and communities.

The ROV is a partnership between the Center for Values-Driven leadership and The Small Giants Community, a group of company leaders who define success not only by their bottom line but by their contributions to their community, dedication to great customer service, and the creation and preservation of workplace cultures of excellence. The University of Michigan’s Center for Positive Organizations is also a research partner for the project.

Get Involved with the ROV
Your help is needed! Join the Small Giants Community and the CVDL to make the ROV initiative possible. Here are three ways you can help:
- Recommend a company: The ROV initiative will do survey research with as many as 1000 companies, and will do in depth profiles of approximately 20 organizations. We’re looking for values-driven companies with $2.5 to $500 million in annual sales, and 10 to 1000 employees. Have one in mind? Send an email to info@cvdl.org with your suggestion.
- Stay informed of the ROV’s progress and findings: Get regular updates on study results, including information you can put to work in your own company. To receive these progress reports and updates, send an email to info@cvdl.org, subject line “ROV updates.”
- Help fund the ROV initiative: The ROV initiative is funded through generous donations from the Small Giants Community, their members, and other interested donors. Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to support this research. When you click on the button below, you will be directed to the Benedictine University online giving page where you can make a donation to the Initiative. On that page, where it asks you for “Designations” select “Special Gift Designations,” then choose “Center for Values-Driven Leadership” from the options under the College of Business. Please put “Return on Values Project” in the “Other” box. Thank you!
