Release Date: Monday, September 19, 2011
CHICAGO - The Center for Values-Driven Leadership announced today the sponsors of their next Senior Executive Roundtable, Creating Sustainable Value, on Oct. 14th, 2011.
First Alert®, a brand name of Illinois-based BRK Brands and Jarden Corporation, will sponsor the event, along with global real estate and financial services firm Jones Lang LaSalle, based in Chicago.
This event is part of the Center for Values-Driven Leadership's ongoing Senior Executive Roundtable series, for senior executives who are committed to leading at the intersection of ethics, sustainability, and business results. Stu Hart, business sustainability pioneer and author of Capitalism at the Crossroads, will be the keynote speaker.
First Alert®, a leader in home safety and security products, joins the discussion on creating sustainable value on the heels of its robust product development program supporting a foundation for sustainable growth. In the past few years, the company has added a variety of products to its diverse offerings, including fireproof and water-resistant safes, security cameras, and a new line of products to serve families with small children as well as older adults.
While First Alert® has greatly expanded its product lines during the last few years, it has also emphasized its commitment to environmental sustainability by converting its fire-safety products to 100% recyclable packaging and providing an eco-friendly disposal program to consumers for smoke and carbon monoxide detectors.
"Our growth is a testament to our team's ambitions and talents but also to our business practices," said Tom Russo, CEO of First Alert®. "At First Alert®, we believe in non-stop innovation and continually strive to deliver products that help people protect what matters most. We are committed to creating sustainable value and are happy to sponsor this event as part of that commitment."
Jones Lang LaSalle's expertise in sustainability has a global impact, reaching into 70 countries. Their Energy and Sustainability Services includes property and portfolio energy management; energy retrofits; solar rooftop assessment and installation; LEED assessment and certification; carbon footprint measurement; green lease strategies; sustainable workplace design; and corporate employee engagement strategies. Over the past three years, the firm has saved clients more than $300 million in energy costs and completed in excess of 100 LEED certification assignments.
"Jones Lang LaSalle and First Alert® are stepping forward as champions of sustainability," says Amber Johnson, CVDL advisor. "We're thankful for their generous support, and for the impact their work makes in our communities."
